Professional Experience

Alongside extensive clinical practice, I bring a strong academic background to my work as a nurse tutor.

I have 16 years of experience working in neurosurgical critical care, where I also played a key role in clinical education, supporting nurses in developing advanced skills to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care. For the past 7 years, I have worked in UK higher education as a university lecturer, teaching and assessing across:

  • BSc Nursing programmes
  • MSc Nursing programmes
  • FdSc Nursing Associate programmes

This experience allows me to support students at every stage of their academic journey, from early undergraduate study through to postgraduate education.

OSCE and International Nurse Expertise

I am an experienced NMC Test of Competence (OSCE) trainer and former NHS programme lead for the NMC OSCE.

In this role, I designed and delivered a comprehensive OSCE training programme for international nurses, transforming outcomes from a 0% pass rate to one of the highest first‑time pass rates in the country, at the height of international recruitment.

To date, I have successfully supported hundreds of internationally educated nurses and return to practice nurses to pass the OSCE and join the NMC register, enabling them to progress their careers and contribute to safe patient care in the UK.
